What Really Happened: The she.is.electric Project.
Remember how I talked about being away, and how much work was involved in all of that? This video is why. This is what I spent the last sixteen weeks of my life working on; my first documentary piece. I had an awesome team, an amazing instructor, and some really incredible interview subjects (not all of whom I was able to include, given we had a seven-minute time limit).
But it turned out well. So I’m sharing it with you.
Battles | ‘Dross Glop 1’

Today, Battles announced the first installment of their four-part 12” remix series Dross Glop, due out on February 6. Featuring stellar remixes from Gui Boratto and The Field, Dross Glop 1 sets the bar high, and given that no announcements have yet been made regarding who might yet be on the roster for the remaining three releases, it’s pretty fair to expect some surprises. You can preview both tracks below, and find out more about the series itself here. In the meantime, the folks with Bleep are already doing preorders, and you can even subscribe to the entire series there.
Richie Hawtin interviews Mute label owner and electronic music pioneer Daniel Miller at the 2011 International Music Summit in Ibiza. The universe implodes from the force of sheer awesome. (What I wouldn’t give to have been a fly on that wall!—ed.)
RA Poll: Top 20 labels of 2010
This reads like the sexiest label list ever. The catalog for pretty much every one is drool-worthy, and it’s deeply satisfying to have them all compiled in one place at the year-end when the next question is, “what happened in the world of electronic music in 2010?”
FM3 BUDDHA MACHINE - Generation III

This is still the most innovative way of releasing an album I’ve yet seen, and so I’m very excited to learn that the folks with FM3 have decided to release the third iteration of their much-loved Buddha Machine—and in translucent colors! You can pre-order your own via Bleep or Boomkat!
The Avalanches | ‘Frontier Psychiatrist’ (via XLRecordings)
It’s actually difficult to comment on the relative awesomeness of this song, let alone the video. Such fantastic work from start to finish.
Daft Punk | Around The World (via emiamericarecords)
I’m seeing a theme coming on!
