Regis | ‘In A Syrian Tongue’ EP

Straight out of Sandwell District’s camp comes a new EP from Regis on brand new London label Blackest Ever Black. You can already preorder copies of this one via Boomkat, and if you’re a sucker for cool album art, it’s best to hurry, as the first 500 copies come in the picture sleeve you see above.
Hard, dark techno doesn’t get much more fierce than Regis, and on this release he certainly doesn’t pull any punches. Everything here is blistering in its tone and tempo; just the right pace for the 4am crowd as it sets itself on going until morning. Very excited to hear this one hit dancefloors soon!

Labels to Love: Färden Records
As the dissemination of the bass music aesthetic expands its reach, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that techno artists are ready and willing to try a few tricks on for size. Cue Stockholm’s Färden Records, bringing dark techno further into lush low-end soundscapes with fist-pumping drive that moves the whole body. Jacking rarely gets much better than this, and there’s definitely a little something for all fans of dance music in here. Have a peep at their available catalog over at Clone—it makes an incredibly tempting argument for vinyl. And last but not least, your listening homework:
Donnacha Costello | ‘Unheard Ambient and Guitar Works’

Vinyl is expensive, and becoming increasingly difficult to produce and distribute. However, it’s hardly a dead medium, so instead, artists are seeking new and creative ways to keep their work alive on wax. Cue Donnacha Costello’s announcement that he will be pressing 300 copies of an EP titled Unheard Ambient and Guitar Works, depending entirely on available demand. The window to pre-order a copy began on April 22, and will be closing 28 days later—that is, May 20. Should there be enough interest, he plans to go ahead with the pressing, and it would be a terrible shame if there wasn’t.
You can download/ preview an unmastered copy of the track “Solitaire” here, and to pre-order and learn more, go here.
